Track 1: Raised
Berlin-born and raised actor, singer, and guitarist Rosa Landers releases debut solo single “Raised”. A mosaic of childhood and relationship memories, each shard a kaleidoscope of emotions, colours, and sensations, melt into the tapestry of “Raised”.
As the ethereal intro unfolds, the listener is carried into a dreamlike state. This is further enhanced by Rosa’s enchanting, haunting vocal. Gradually, the tempo picks up, carried by the steady pulse of an RnB bass line. Harmonic violins weave their way through the arrangement.
Out of the three tracks, this was created in the moment. We improvised, Rafa created a beautiful melodic bass line, and I jammed over it while scrolling through my phone for lyrics I had already written. I didn’t want to create another dreamy song, so Rafa found a bouncy bass line that would cut the mood. This song digests the part in me that has hurt when I was a child, which still reflects in my relationships today. It reflects how I received love, but how there was a constant lack of it, too. The feeling of safety while eventually ending up being left, and forgotten, somehow. - Rosa Landers
Track 2: Circle Line
Berlin native Rosa Landers, a versatile actor, singer, and guitarist, unveils her latest solo single, "Circle Line."
Influenced by a diverse range of genres including Jazz, Blues, RnB, Soul, Motown, Meditation, film, and world music, Landers creates a captivating blend of sounds and melodies. The gentle hook and dreamy flute evoke feelings of closeness and nostalgia, while the song's inspiration—Berlin's love languages and unfulfilled commitments—adds depth to its emotional landscape.
With "Circle Line," Landers continues to establish herself as a compelling artist, inviting listeners into a world of introspection and reflection.
Track 3: Garçonnière
Third and final track “Garçonnière” is an expression for a space that wasn’t meant for two.
“Left behind in a garconniere” pretty much places the story. Hearing birds outside but feeling a storm in oneself, in that one room apartment. A reversed oud and downtempo beats serve the pulse of the last breaths of a connection, the end of a relationship. - Rosa Landers
