THE STORY SO FAR

A project by Brazilian producer and multi-instrumentalist Rafa Mura, daetime creates music which feels like a warm hug. The project was created to release his collaborations with different artists from the Berlin scene - “sad songs to dance to”. Heavily influenced by Brazilian music, he moved to Berlin at 18 to study Computer Science, developing a recording studio in his old dorm room. After dropping out of college to pursue a music degree, Rafa has already worked with various independent Berlin staples and Lekker Collective alumni such as Aka Kelzz, Rosa Landers, Ish and more. Rafa seamlessly blends his passion for analog and electronic music, playing most instruments of his songs himself, and often resampling his own songs to create something new.

“CTMB“ (feat. Mikey Sebastian)

A collaboration with Bristol-born, Texas-based poet and performer Mikey Sebastian, “CTMB” (ComeToMeBaby) is a faced-paced offering touting a melting pot of influences from both artists, creating the perfect blend of UK garage, grime and a dash of lofi–house.

“The production takes influence from Brazilian jazz, breakbeat, and 90’s lofi-house, with an unexpected blend of distorted Bass Synthesizers and flutes, glitch sound effects and a smooth rhodes piano.” - daetime

Mikey Sebastian delivers a powerful performance exploring the themes of attraction, first love encounters and obsession. The vocal performance, delivered in rapid fire succession, feels almost at odds with the lyrics which speak of instant connection and a playful yearning - all while flirting to a beat.

“It is simply flirting to a beat. It's got “Where have you been all my life?” energy.” - Mikey Sebastian

“MinuteSpent” (feat, Charlotte Colace & Luminiah)

“MinuteSpent” is the fourth release from Brazilian producer daetime via Berlin label Lekker Collective. A baile funk-inspired track infused with jazzy breakbeats and deep melodies. It captures the blissful yet obsessive emotions of a budding romance, where time with someone special never feels sufficient.

This collaboration features French-Cuban neo-soul artist Charlotte Colace and Santa Fe's own Luminiah, both key figures in Berlin's vibrant R&B scene. Their unique styles blend to create a captivating auditory experience.

“BabyGxrl” (feat. Giorgia-May)

Collaborative music project daetime welcomes the dulcet tones of Giorgia-May on latest single “BabyGxrl”. The track, infused with UK garage influences, serves as an anthem for female empowerment, exploring themes of feminine energy, women’s rights, and bodily autonomy.

“I wanted to write a short R&B song that was to the point and felt somehow empowering,” says Giorgia-May. “As women, we don't just get to feel safe in our bodies—it’s something we have to constantly learn and practice. We face rules and regulations that restrict us, society pits us against each other, we earn less than men, and we are continuously subjected to harassment and control over our autonomy.”

“YouGaveMeLove” (feat. Aka Kelzz)

“YouGaveMeLove” is the second release from Brazilian producer daetime via Berlin label Lekker Collective, this time featuring the unmistakable vocal stylings of long-time collaborator Aka Kelzz.

Thematically revolving around a relationship that is freshly over, where you reminisce on the loving moments you no longer get with them.

“You gave me love babe, just like you do it” is repeated like a mantra - as if to illustrate the rumination, circulation of thoughts in the grieving process. Aka Kelzz soulful voice adds to the 80’s house flavour created by the vintage synths.

“Originally with different vocals, and a stripped down arrangement, the song ended up being shelved for almost 4 years, before a new vocal take by Aka Kelzz ignited the inspiration to finish and release the track.” - daetime

“Anyways“ (feat. ELLE MB)

A dreamy yet danceable track about the highs and lows of a situationship— carefree at first, but unraveling into heartbreak and trust issues. Fast drums and ethereal synths create a bittersweet, winter-ready vibe. Feat the vocal prowess of Berlin-based ELLE MB who blends Neo-Soul, R&B, and jazz-influenced harmonies with intricate sound design.

The collaboration between daetime and ELLE MB brings together their distinct artistic visions, resulting in a track that resonates with listeners both emotionally and rhythmically.

“TakeAMoment”

New kid on the block daetime releases sophomore single “TakeAMoment”. Riding on the wings of an adventurous breakbeat, the song is a love letter to need, connection and care. The smooth vocal lines, sang by the producer himself, blend seamlessly with the bassline, while the interplay of percussion and funky synths create effortless rhythm in the certified bop.

Daetime also decided to bless us with an instrumental and sped up version of the song.

Down4U (feat. Rosa Landers)

On this track daetime has teamed up with singer and performer Rosa Landers to release their new single, "Down4U." A rhythmic and evocative blend of Afro House and 90s-inspired synths, "Down4U" takes listeners on a sonic journey of intense emotions, exploring the complexities of love, desire, and personal differences.

Down4U is more than just a dance track. Infused with Afro House beats and dreamy, vintage-style synths, the song tells a heartfelt story of two people in love who realize they want different things from life. Even though their affection is strong, they struggle to reconcile their individual needs. Still, there’s an undeniable magnetic pull between them, and despite their differences, the singer expresses, "Still I’m feeling down for you," underscoring the bittersweet theme of wanting to be together, no matter how uncertain the future may be.
